Chinese Bun with Pineapple Fillings

Ingredient

Wheat Flour for making Chinese bun               500     g
Sugar                           150     g
Shortening                              80   g
Instant Yeast                                  10   g
Water                           230     g
Baking Powder                           2     tsp
Salt                         1     tsp
Pineapple filling
Chinese Bun Paper
Ingredients for Pineapple fillings
Pineapple in Syrup                           350     g
Raisin, golden                             100     g
Hale’s Blue Boy Concentrated Pineapple Flavored Syrup             100     g
Butter, salted                              80      g
Corn Starch                         20     g

Method

1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
2. Add flour, yeast, sugar and water in mixer. Mix just to combine and add shortening. Mix till smooth and elastic. Rest 15 minutes.
3. Cut and scale at 30 g each. Make round balls and spread out. Put pineapple fillings and cover. Place on Chinese bun paper and rest for 30 minutes or double in size.
4. Place buns in steamer with high heat for 7-10 minutes or till well-cooked. Serve hot.


Method for making pineapple fillings
1.Mix pineapple with raisins, corn starch, Hale’s Blue Boy Concentrated Pineapple Flavored Syrup and salt together. Cook over medium heat till thicken. Remove from heat and leave to cool down.
2. Scale at 20 g each for one bun.
