Sweetheart Cookies
Ingredient
| All Purpose Flour, Bleached | 400 | g |
| Shortening | 125 | g |
| Butter, salted | 125 | g |
| Icing Sugar | 50 | g |
| Hale’s Blue Boy Concentrated Strawberry Flavored Syrup | 50 | g |
| Vanilla Powder | 1 | tsp |
| Heart-Shaped Cookies Cutter | ||
| Baking Pan, greased with shortening | ||
| Cookies Icing | ||
| Ingredients for Icing | ||
| Icing Sugar | 300 | g |
| Corn Starch | 30 | g |
| Egg White | 100 | g |
| Vanilla Powder | ½ | tsp |
| Food Coloring, any preferred colors | ||
Method
1. Sift all purpose flour with vanilla powder. Set aside.2. Beat shortening with salted butter, icing sugar and Hale’s Blue Boy Concentrated Strawberry Flavored Syrup with paddle attachment at medium speed for 3 minutes. Change to low speed and add sifted ingredients. Mix till combined and rest the dough for 15 minutes.
3. Roll out the dough, approximately ½ cm thick. Cut with heart-shaped cookie cutter and put on baking tray. Glaze with different color of cooking icing and write the word “Fondant” on each.
4. Bake at 250 degree Fahrenheit for 30 minutes or till golden crispy.
Method for Cookies Icing
1. Sift icing sugar with vanilla powder and corn starch.
2. Whip egg white with whisk attachment at high speed for 30 seconds. Lower the speed and add sifted ingredients. Whip at high speed for 1 minute.
3. Divide the mixture and add food coloring. Mix well and put in paper cones.
Remark: Ratio of concentrated syrup and other ingredients can be adjusted according to consumers' preference in each region.
